Beach Riding at Gwithian

A chance for the big kids to find out what they have been missing out on – three miles of traffic-free golden sands! Meet at Wheal Buller to load the horses. We will need a volunteer car driver as the horse box only seats three. Join up again at Gwithian to unload and ride. We will be spending about two hours on the beach. If you plan on splashing through the waves then leave the posh boots at home! A chance to have some fun, but if you wear the horse out at the far end of the beach you get to carry it back.

The cost is £60 a head and includes hire of horse and horse transport.  Places are limited so watch out for the posters announcing departure times.

Swimming with the Horses

An afternoon hack to Carn Marth Lake for a swim with the horses (we never swim in the sea as it is far too dangerous). Bring a small rucksack, or similar, to carry a towel and spare shoes (trainers or short boots to wear in the water). A swimming costume, shorts and t-shirt or wetsuit are suitable to wear in the water. Saddles off, (provided) life-jackets on, mount up and into the water. Depart 2pm from Wheal Buller. The cost is £45 for the afternoon.

Day Ride to Devoran

A great chance to hack out towards the south coast for a contrast in scenery. Start at 11am – aiming to return for 4.30pm. Head South over the hills and through the trees and lanes to Devoran. The banks of the Carnon River are a great chance for some serious canters.  A picnic lunch and then wind through the valleys and over the hills homeward.

The ride is approximately 25 miles (possibly a little more) and is suitable for intermediate and experienced riders. The price of £70 does not include lunch. We are running them on Sunday 17th and Wednesday 20th February.

Two Hour Hack & Pub Stop Sunday.

Let us know when you would like another one. It is a ride suitable for all of our adult hacking riders.  The cost is £45 and includes two hours hacking with a half hour pub stop on the way (2½ hours in all).  Speak to a member of staff for more details.
